Mud Run

My son and I had an absolute blast sloshing through mud and navigating muddy obstacles at a Mud Run on June 18th. One of my girlfriend's put together a team and we eagerly signed up. We were labeled team "Dirty Bitches" and my son was "Son of a Dirty Bitch" (our shirts got rave reviews). We braved 3.5 miles of muck and came out a mess but had so much fun doing it we plan to sign up again next year!

I used Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo punch on the LO in an attempt to recreate dripping mud. You have to really experience the mud run in person, though, to get the real effect!

Searchin' 4 The Perfect Tree

After going out to breakfast, we set off to get our Christmas tree. We had a gorgeous morning for our hunt (usually we are searching in a downpour).
I used Mosaic Moments Grid paper to help me line up my mosaic tiles of the trees.

Merry Christmas 2011

Every year I like to create a layout featuring our Christmas card. This is our 2011 card. Since the kids are standing in front of the Christmas tree, I wanted to use some of the ornaments as elements on the layout.

I used Tami Potter's double sided tape and added glitter to it for a little extra bling. And my base paper is Mosaic Moments Grid paper. The grids really help with spacing my 1x1 tiles perfectly!

Eeeek! Scary!

For our NSSS challenge this weekend, I opted to do a LO with using this sketch as my guide
This is the LO I came up with. I wasn't able to get to Costco today to get my photos, so that spot is blank!

Holiday Projects

I finished up a couple holiday projects this weekend!
I made this fun holiday garland. Jessica Sprague offered a free Holiday Memories this week. I used my cricut to cut out the stars, circles and scallops. Jessica provided the templates for the dates and the photo circles. I picked out a bunch of Christmas memories and dropped them into the template, printed the photo circles, punched them out and adhered them to the scallops. There are photos on both sides. I need to finish the class and make the box to store my garland in. So fun!
I love the projects on the DCWV blog! Erin posted this cute project a couple weeks ago and I knew I had to do it! I used a DCWV stack from last year and adhered my rolls to a canvas I got at Joann's (that I painted and modge podged). I cut the bird out with my cricut. And I colored my own twill ribbon by spraying plain ribbon with water and then running Distress Ink along the ribbon until I was happy with the color. This project is a nice addition to my mantel this year.

Dad

I love DCWV's Stack-a-holic Template Challenges!
This is the sketch for the November challenge
I used the Natural Stack to scrap this photo of my dad. My mom unearthed the original the last year and I scanned it and had it printed at Costco. We have no idea what year the photo was taken.
I think my son bears a striking resemblance to his gramps!

Bookmarks

Since I am in a crafting mode and my scrap room floor is littered with paper right now, I decided to make some book marks for the craft fair (and use some stuff from my stash and clean my floor in the process!).
These rosettes were simple easy to do make using Tim Holtz's Mini Paper Rosette's Die Strip. Just ran the paper through my Cuttlebug, and it comes out perforated for easy folding.
I added some buttons and baker's twine and hot glued the rosettes to giant paper clips.
Quick and easy and cute!

Calendars

I have been busy making desktop calendars for the upcoming craft fair. I am making them in 2 different sizes and using some different papers for variety.
The above calendars fit into business card sized CD cases.
The 2 calendars above and the ones below are examples of the calendars I made that fit into standard CD cases.

I love this flower embellishment. I can't remember where I got the idea but it is one of my favorites. I punched 10 scalloped circles from an old phone book, put them together with a brad, scrunched the layers up and misted with glimmer mist.

Projects, Projects, Projects!!!

I have been crafting a lot lately! Special Services has a small craft show the first weekend of December. I thought I would create a few items and see if they sell. If I don't sell them, I can always use them as gifts!
Post it note holders
I made 2 of these rosette holiday wreaths recently featured on the DCVW blog. Fun, fun, fun to make!
More toddler jackets-these are always a hit!

I made this wreath for my sister from last year's Christmas cards
A couple of fabric pins using a new little template I found from Clover
Holiday block lights--cut the vinyl out with my Cricut

Guess I should fix my family some dinner and do laundry now....oh, and pay some bills.

Roy Crazy

I did this LO of the girls and Roy based on a sketch I found at Sketch Savvy http://sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/. I am glad they are crazy about Roy, not boys!

New Layouts

Last summer I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup and took a couple of classes. One class featured the newish Post-it Craft Paper by 3M. The repostionable papers come in lots of colors and are wonderful with the cricut.

I have been waiting to find the right pictures to put into 2 of the LO's I made in my class. These cute pictures from Mother's Day with me and all my kids, were great for one of the LO's.
The other LO worked great for a new photo and old photo of me on the PLU campus.

Orchestra Fest

The DCWV blog's September Stack-a-holic sketch challenge was posted today. http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2011/09/september-stack-holic-challenge.html
I used the Lemon Flower Stack to create this LO of the spring Orchestra Festival.

Stress Relief

I am supposed to be getting us ready to head to the county fair for the next 5 days (DD is taking her horse there and showing him along with the other 67 4-H horse kids). Plus, I am stressing about starting my new job. So, to take my mind off those things, I am crafting!!! CRAZY ME!
Used Sports Mania to do this LO of DS's wrestling team pix.
Tried to keep this LO simple since there are a lot of photos in it.
Another quick and easy LO. Not too much embellishment, since there are a lot of pix for a single page.
I used a Crystal Wilkerson quick page to do digi LO. http://www.crystalwilkerson.com/blog
OK--now I need to focus on other tasks!

Who's That?

I did another LO for the DCWV August template challenge. I used the Indian Summer Fall Stack, Matstack and Fall Glitter Matstack for this LO. I used a sketch from the Page Maps August 2011 sketches to help me create this LO.

Leftovers

I had some left over papers from a kit so I decided to use them up and I made some cards with them. Pretty simple design but now I have a few generic cards sitting here for when I need to grab a note!

January stories

These are some of the LO's I worked on this week. They tell the story of life in January!

Davis got his braces taken off!

Davis turned 14! I used the birthday card I made for DB as part of the LO.

We spent NY's with the cousins!

Welcome 2011

The first LO for my 2011 album!!!! I always wonder how many pages I will end up. Last year I filled up 2 albums with LO's. We were busy. Bet this year will be the same!

Sweet

I haven't had a chance to scrap in ages! But I finally had some time this week to get into my scrap room and create a bit. DCWV has a monthly template challenge and I thought it would be fun to play along this month.
I used the DCWV Summer Dream Stack and Cardstock Matstack to put together this LO. Makes me want to go out and get berries and do some dipping!

another wild weekend in P.A.!

I had fun creating this digi LO using freebie templates, papers and elements I picked up on the internet! I love free stuff!

NSSS Challenge #3

Challenge #3 is to use a 6" cricut cut. For this LO, I welded (2) 6" long borders together to create a 12" border for the LO.

NSSS Challenge #4--yet another entry

Here is another entry for Challenge #4--"Anything Goes". And no, I am not cheating! I made another football page (seen on the left) to go with the page on the right for the scrapbook. The page I posted yesterday went into a frame for DS's room!

NSSS Challenge #1

Challenge #1 was to create a LO based on this Pagemaps sketch (I love using Pagemaps sketches)
This is my interpretation of the sketch!

NSSS Challenge #6

Another "Anything Goes" entry. It feels good to get baseball from Spring 2010 done, especially since practice for the 2011 season starts in 5 days!!!! I took so many photos during games, it was hard to pare them done to just a few for the LO. I saw a wonderful tutorial at Scrapbooks Etc. for making my own film strips in PSE, so I tried it out for this LO. I think I will try it again for football pix.

NSSS Challenge #4--and another

Used a lot of photos on this "Anything goes" entry
